total time: 25 minutes
Serves 4
Ingredients:
Meat patty:
-1 lb ground beef, rib meat
Marinade:
-7 tbsp soy sauce
-3 tbsp sugar
-2 tbsp mirin
-2 tbsp honey
-1 tbsp sesame oil
-1 tbsp garlic, minced
-2 tbsp ginger, minced
-1/2 korean pear or 1 whole regular pear, grated
-2 stalks spring onion
-1/2 of a medium onion, finely minced
Glaze:
-1 tbsp sesame oil
-1 tsp soy sauce
-1 tsp honey
Directions:
Using a food processor, add all of the marinade ingredients and blend until you get an almost paste-like consistency. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, add the ground beef and the marinade. Mix together, until well combined. Mold the meat mixture into burger-shaped patties.
Take out a smaller bowl, and mix all of the glaze ingredients together. Set aside.
Place the patties in a slightly oiled heated pan. Fry the patties on medium heat. Once the juice comes out of the meat, flip them over and press them down with a spatula. Reduce the temperature to medium-low heat. Occasionally flip them over, but not too often. Fry them until both sides of the patties become nicely browned, about 15 minutes.
Use a paper towel to wipe out any extra grease. Then brush the patties with the glaze on both sides. Take them out, garnish with some spring onions or chopped walnuts and serve with rice. Enjoy!
