Ingredients:
-cooked rice
-12 oz steak of your choice
-2 tbsp. butter
-2 garlic cloves
-3 tbsp. soy sauce
-2 tbsp. mirin
-2 tbsp. sake
-1 tbsp. sugar
-olive oil
-salt and pepper
-herbs for garnish
Directions:
Take the steak out of the refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before cooking, ensuring it is thawed entirely.
Preheat your pan, to medium heat. Lightly season the steak with salt, pepper and drizzle with olive oil. Meanwhile, add soy sauce, mirin, sake and sugar in a small saucepan, simmer for about 3 minutes.
When the pan is hot enough, put the steak in. Cook to liking. Tilt the pan, bathe the steak with the butter and oil using a spoon.
When the steak is done, let it rest on a clean cutting board for at least 5 minutes before slicing. Also remember to slice against the grain of the meat.
In a bowl, add cooked rice and place the thinly sliced steak on top. Spoon over the teriyaki sauce made earlier.
