Ingredients
2 oz. VSOP cognac, armagnac, or a good brandy
1 oz. cointreau
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
sugar to rum the glass, for garnish (optional)
orange or lemon twist, for garnish (optional)
Directions
Optional: Prepare the cocktail glass by taking a lemon wedge and running it around the edge of the rim of the glass. Then dip the rim in a saucer of sugar to create a thin crust, then shake lightly to shake off excess. Chill the glass until needed.
Combine the brandy, cointreau, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake well until chilled, about 10 seconds. Strain it into the glasses you've prepared then garnish with your lemon or orange twist and serve. Enjoy!
