Prep time: 15 minutes
Makes: 1 cup
Ingredients:
-1 oz vodka
-1/2 oz lime juice
-2 oz raspberry liqueur
-2 oz sprite or tonic water
-1 tsp silver cake shimmer
-1 drop purple food coloring
**Note: You can also use 25-30 dried blue pea flowers (or about 4-5 tea bags) and 2 1/2 cups of boiling water to make crush blue ice to add to the top of the drink for a blue/purple pop. Just squeeze a splash of lime to watch it change color!
**N/A option: You can use Minute Maid Berry punch/juice instead of liquors. Mix the tonic water and the Galaxy cubes for the color-changing and glow effect.
Directions:
Pour the tonic water carefully into the ice cube tray. Put the filled ice cube tray into the freezer, and allow it to set for several hours, until solid.
To make Galaxy cubes:
Steep the dried blue pea flowers in boiling water for about 20-30 minutes, until the water turns a very deep blue in color (the darker, the better).
Strain the tea and pour it into ice cube trays. Freeze until completely frozen.
When needed, crush the ice in an ice crusher blender (remember to leave in some small chunks).
Keep in the freezer until needed.
Make the My Universe drink:
Combine liquors, silver shimmer, food coloring, and lime juice in a large cocktail shaker.
Shake vigorously for 5 seconds to mix.
Pour your mixture into a cocktail glass with your tonic/ galaxy ice.
Fill remainder of the glass with sprite or tonic water. If you want to make a slushie with the galaxy ice: just pour the drink over it and top with tonic water for the glow! Enjoy!
