Ingredients:
*Spices:
-1 tsp chili powder
-1/2 tsp ground cumin
-1/2 tsp coriander powder
-1/2 tsp salt, to taste
-1/2 tsp garlic powder
-1/2 tsp onion powder
*Other
-400g of potatoes, sliced into sticks or frozen fries, thawed
-Oil (if frying, enough vegetable, or canola oil for deep frying)
-if baking, 3 tbsp olive oil
-if air frying, 2 tsp olive oil
Directions:
-Mix spices together and set aside.
-If using potatoes, peel, wash and cut into french fries.
-Soak (raw/non-frozen) fries in water and set sit for 5-10 minutes to remove excess starch.
-Drain well and lightly pat dry.
If baking:
Preheat the oven to 375F.
Sprinkle the spice mix over potatoes, and mix ensuring theyre evenly coated.
Toss the fries with olive oil. Spread onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 20 minutes. Flip the fries and bake for another 20 minutes.
If frying:
Heat the oil in a frying pan on medium high heat.
To check if the oil is ready, dip the tip of a wooden spoon into the oil. If it softly bubbles, then it's ready. If it bubbles aggressively, turn the heat down.
Fry the fries until golden brown. Turn the fries over a few times while frying.
Remove fries from oil, and place on a paper towel. Then toss the fries with the spices.
If air-frying:
Toss the fries with the spices and olive oil.
Place them in the container and air fry them for 20 minutes on 180c and flip every 5 minutes.
Serve hot and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce or whipped yogurt.
