Prep time: 5 min
Cook time: 40 min
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
2 cups short grain white rice
1 tbsp black sweet rice
2 cup water
Directions:
WASH YOUR RICE! Put the rice in a bowl and rinse the rice until the water is clear. At least 3-4 times of rinsing. Drain the water well.
IF USING A RICE COOKER: Transfer the rice into a rice cooker inner pot. Cover the rice with the water and close the lid. If your cooker has the option of "glutinous rice", set it to that.
Wait until the rice cooks and switch to the warm setting. It takes 23-26 minutes to complete. Fluff the rice and serve. Enjoy!
IF ON A STOVE TOP: Transfer the rice into a pot and add the rice and add the water. Add 1 extra cup of water (so 3 cups total).
Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat until the water is boiling. Reduce the heat to medium then boil for 6-7 minutes until the water is evaporated. Then reduce the heat to low and simmer for another 5 minutes. Do NOT open the lid.
Remove the pot from the stove and let it rest for 10 minutes, covered. After, open the lid and fluff the rice. Serve warm and enjoy!
**Note: If you can't find sweet black rice, you can use beta glucan mixed rice, which has baby pressed barley and black rice or any other mixed grain with black rice.
