Prep time: 5 min
Cook time: 3-8 min
Servings: 1
Ingredients:
1 large egg
1 cup (200g) cooked white rice
2 tbsp (30 mL) soy sauce (or low sodium soy sauce)
2 tbsp (30 mL) sesame oil
1 tbsp (15mL) butter
furikake, shredded seaweed or sesame seeds, for garnish
green onions, diced, for garnish
Directions:
In a pan, let about 3 tbsp (45mL) of oil get hot over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, crack the egg into the pan. When the egg white is set, about 3 minutes (sunny side up), take the egg out. If you don't like sunny side up but want a runny yolk, let it cook for 4-5 mins., depending on your liking.
Put the hot, cooked rice in a bowl. Place the butter in the rice and mix to incorporate thoroughly. Then add the egg on top. Sprinkle the furikake over the egg and rice. Drizzle the soy sauce, and sesame oil over the egg. Serve and enjoy!
This is just what I needed today. It fast and filling! I hope it’s yummy!
