*Side note: Tteokbokki is a Korean spicy rice cake. It is usually serve as a side dish, snack or street food. This Tteokbokki recipe is the simplest and easiest ever with just 5 ingredients.

Made by our @BTSARMY kitchen staff member @ChellszYuHurdd

Ingredients:

-1 cup rice cake (dduk/tteok)

-2 tsp Korean spicy bean paste (gochujang)

-2 tsp sugar

-1 tsp soy sauce

-3/4 cup water

Instructions:

1. 1 cup of rice cakes is about 5-6 oz. Defrost frozen rice cakes.

2. Add water, gochujang, and sugar to pan and bring to a boil on a medium-high heat.

3. Add the tteokbokki tteok to the gochujang water and lower the heat to a simmer. Simmer for 8-10 minutes.

Serve hot and Enjoy!!

**Recipe note: When doing tteokbokki, fresh rice cakes are always preferable since the frozen ones end up dry and cracked but either one is fine (do what's better for your budget/availability). You can add boiled eggs, fish cakes, veggies, firm tofu or meats at your preference for added texture, making the dish heartier.
