Makes 6 donuts
Ingredients:
1 cup/ 110g all-purpose flour
1 tsp/ 5mL baking powder
1/4 tsp/ 1.2 mL salt
1/4 cup/ 50.25g granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup/ 61.3g sour cream
3 tbsp/ 45 mL milk
1 tbsp/ 5 mL butter, melted
1 tsp/ 5mL almond extract
Icing:
1/2 stick butter, melted
3-4 tbsp/ 15-20mL milk
1 tsp/ 5 mL almond extract
1 cup/ 120g powdered sugar
slivered almonds, for garnish
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350F/ 176C. Spray a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray.
In a bowl, add all dry ingredients and stir to combine. Add the egg, sour cream, milk, almond extract, and butter and stir everything until just combined.
Spoon or pipe into wells of the donut tin. Bake for about 10 minutes or until donuts spring back when touched. Remove from the oven and dump out of the pan and let it cool.
Meanwhile, mix together your glaze ingredients.
Once the donuts are cool, dip the tops of each donut into the glaze. Repeat the process for all of the donuts. Sprinkle with slivered almonds and serve with some warm coffee. Enjoy!
